The therapists at Houston Center for Valued Living offer multiple evidence-based therapy modalities, depending on the client’s mental health goals. For clients who find themselves stuck reliving painful memories, Houston Center for Valued Living provides Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy. This therapy is a commonly used treatment for PTSD and the aftereffects of traumatic experience, and helps the brain process through these difficult memories so that they become consolidated in the client’s understanding of the past. Clients also learn effective coping skills through Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), which can be used in moments of distress to alleviate panic attacks or moments of prolonged sadness.
Houston Center for Valued Living helps clients set specific goals for their mental health. The therapists at Houston Center for Valued Living work with clients to get a sense of what’s blocking them from living the lives that they want, and then support them as they break those roadblocks down. We are a solution-focused therapy practice that is set on seeing results, all while providing empathy, compassion, and kindness in each session.
