Akos is a board certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner and has over 9 years’ experience in evaluating and treating a wide range of mental health diagnoses, including treatment of adults and adolescents with Depression, Anxiety, ADHD, PTSD, and other psychiatric disorders. She has psychiatric/mental health experience, in various roles, including inpatient psychiatry at Rhode Island Hospital and Butler Hospital Patient Assessment Services. In addition, Akos has worked at Rhode Island Department of Corrections and outpatient clinics. This work has helped her to develop her perspective on the challenges individual face, and how she can best engage clients in wellness care.

Akos provides medication management and will work with you to prescribe medications appropriately while developing the best plan to support you.

Medication Management - I can help you find medications that work, monitor progress and side effects .

Genesight Testing - Genesight Testing GeneSight is a pharmacogenomic test that analyzes clinically important genetic variations that may affect your response to medications. The results of the test can provide your doctor with information about which medications may be more likely to work.

Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) - Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) therapy is an advanced therapy which uses a targeted, pulsed magnetic field, similar to what is used in a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) machine. The pulses, produced through a FDA approved device, are delivered directly to the specific area of the brain involved in depression.

ADHD - Skill-building and support around organizational challenges, distracted attention, procrastination; building and maintaining healthy routines and structure

Anxiety - Coping with excessive worry, nervousness, or stress; intense discomfort in social settings (social anxiety); sudden and intense feelings of panic (panic disorder)

Depression - Providing support and promoting healing of hopelessness, low motivation and energy, sadness, irritability, sleep disturbance, and loss of interest and pleasure in life
