Professional statement

Dr. M. Haroon Burhanullah is a board-certified psychiatrist who provides evidence-based medication management for adults with a wide range of mental health concerns. He treats depression, anxiety disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), panic disorder, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia and other psychotic disorders, eating disorders, substance use disorders, and women's mental health concerns, including reproductive psychiatry. He also has specialized expertise in geriatric psychiatry and neuropsychiatry, with extensive experience caring for older adults and patients whose psychiatric symptoms are complicated by medical or neurological conditions.

Dr. Burhanullah believes psychiatric care should be individualized, collaborative, and grounded in a thorough understanding of each patient's medical history, symptoms, and goals. He has particular expertise in treating patients with Alzheimer's disease, Lewy body disease, traumatic brain injury, and other neurological illnesses, while also supporting the families and caregivers who often play an essential role in their care.

Dr. Burhanullah graduated from Dow Medical College before completing postdoctoral research in neuroimaging at Johns Hopkins University. He completed his psychiatry residency at Bergen Regional Medical Center, where he served as Executive Chief Resident, followed by a fellowship in geriatric psychiatry at Johns Hopkins. He has published research on mood disorders, memory disorders, and Alzheimer's disease in peer-reviewed journals, including the American Journal of Geriatric Psychiatry, and has received the American Psychiatric Association Resident Recognition Award.

We are committed to making high-quality psychiatric care accessible. Skypiatrist is in-network with many major insurance plans, including Aetna, Cigna, BCBS, Optum, Oscar, Oxford, and United plans. We also strive to minimize wait times, with appointments available within one week. Our goal is to provide expert, evidence-based psychiatric care that is both accessible and personalized to each patient's needs.
