Alek Jeziorek is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist located in Berkeley, CA. He specializes in working with anyone who identifies as creative, whether professionally as designers, entrepreneurs, academics, writers, musicians, and artists; or as people who feel expressive, sensitive, or like big feelers. When people seek him out, they tend to suffer from a sense of deadness, grief at a loss or life transition, a vague sense that something is missing, pain or suffering from relational patterns that feel difficult change, the need to heal from childhood trauma, or the desire to explore themselves and grow into more aliveness and fulfillment.
Alek’s therapeutic approach is primarily relational, which means you use your therapeutic relationship with him for your benefit. He believes that opportunities for growth and healing naturally arise in relationships, and growth and healing deepen as trust and connection deepen. He’s trained in both Psychodynamic and Gestalt psychotherapies, which help you understand your deepest experiences and oldest pains as they arise in connection in the present moment.
Alek’s therapeutic style is warm, non-judgmental, highly engaged and synthetic, and deeply attuned to the details of your story and experience. He believes that every individual has innate capacity to heal and grow when they become more themselves, and his therapy strives for you to live more authentically.
Alek earned a Masters in Counseling Psychology from the Wright Institute. He has completed 2-year certificates in both Gestalt and Psychodynamic therapy at SF Bay Area institutes, giving you the benefit of deep training. And he received a PhD in English from UC Berkeley, so you have a sensitive and attentive listener to all the intelligence and nuance you bring to therapy.
He has availability for both in-person and virtual appointments and his office is located near Ashby and Telegraph in Berkeley.
