Professional statement

Alexander Rascovar is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the West Village in Manhattan who specializes in working with young professionals in the performing arts and creative industries to overcome anxiety and self-doubt that gets in the way of their own success and high performance. He also has experience working with people who have had a history of trauma or difficult relationship experiences and need help healing from these challenging experiences.

Alex works from a relational approach that prioritizes the close partnership and sense of emotional safety cultivated between him and his clients in therapy. He also incorporates mindfulness practices which helps clients learn how to get more in touch with what is going on in their body, be kinder with their emotions and get unstuck from the thoughts in their head.

He received his Masters in Social Work from Smith College. Prior to going into private practice, he worked as a Substance Abuse Specialist and a Family Specialist for two different New York City-based ACT (Assertive Community Treatment) Teams. This evidence-based practice provided him with strong skills in working with challenging clinical issues like substance use, trauma, anxiety, depression, and family relationship issues. Now at his office steps away from NYU in the West Village, he greatly enjoys more insight and exploratory-based work in private practice with his clients and looks forward to connecting with you.
