Alexia specializes in working with parents during their journey of conception, birth and parenthood. Her training in somatic based psychotherapy as well as her experience working with perinatal mental health, early childhood development and infant psychology allows her to offer a broad range of skills to her clients. Alexia believes that parenthood offers a perfect opportunity to re-pattern old traumas, triggers and response patterns so that one can be more connected, attuned and loving with their children and themselves. Her practice is rooted in body awareness and mindfulness while also drawing on an eclectic mix of psychotherapy philosophies. She works with women and couples who struggle with feeling overwhelmed in their role as parents and feel like they have lost a sense of who they are and what they want. Sometimes this looks like guilt, anxiety, stress and depression. She believes it is possible to feel empowered, embodied and connected to your inner source of wisdom and aliveness, reconnected to your passions and joy, finding a deeper sense of connection and love for your life and children.
Alexia has extensive experience treating and supporting perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, pregnancy loss and fertility challenges, traumatic birth and NICU experiences. Her training includes early childhood development and assessment of the attachment and interaction between child and parent. She provides individual, couples and family psychotherapy sessions
