Professional statement

Change is an inherent part of life, whether we're striving toward exciting new goals or navigating unexpected challenges. While change can be refreshing and motivating, it can also feel overwhelming and isolating at times. You don't have to face it alone.

Amanda works with high-functioning adult (18+ years) individuals and couples, who typically embrace the idea of change but may sometimes struggle to take action. They might be feeling stuck in their relationships, overwhelmed by fear of the unknown, caught in indecision, frozen with "analysis paralysis," battling imposter syndrome, or simply unsure how to get started on the path to Change.

As an integrative therapist, Amanda offers a personalized approach designed to help clients create the changes they desire. With her background as a Marriage and Family Therapist, Amanda believes that meaningful relationships are key to meaningful work, so her therapy and coaching are always collaborative and client-centered. As a New York-licensed therapist, Amanda is available to provide telehealth therapy visits to clients who either reside or are currently located in the state of New York. Telehealth coaching is available to eligible clients everywhere.

Message to clients

I started climbing mountains the same year I first started seeing clients as a professional therapist. Over 15 years and 30 mountains later, I have come to believe that there are striking similarities between climbing a mountain and changing through therapy:

Therapy and mountain climbing can both be life-affirming and life-changing.

Both take preparation, endurance, and resilience.

In mountain climbing, as in therapy, daunting uncertainty and remarkable self-discovery coexist.

While it's important to plan, it's also wise to prepare for the unexpected.

It helps to have a clear goal at the outset and a map to get there — and sometimes a guide.

My goal is to help my clients brave life's changes & challenges; to climb their own personal mountains. My approach is tailored to each individual client, to ensure our work together is empowering, meaningful, and effective. With energy, humor, and warmth, I can help you navigate life's peaks and valleys.
