Professional statement

"Pain is inevitable but suffering is optional" ~Old Buddhist saying~ Pain is a part of life but it does not have to rule your life. Suffering is not a part of life. We do it to ourselves by allowing our pain to take over our lives. We may try to cope by ignoring, rejecting or holding onto our pain by addictive behaviors (e.g. drugs, obsessive thinking about the past and ourselves). Thus, we only cause ourselves more pain and suffering. You don't have to sit alone with your pain and suffer. It would be my pleasure and honor to be a part of your journey towards Healing. I am here for You. I am a Dr. of Psychology (known as "Dr. Anita" to many), deeply committed to each and every one of my clients. This isn't just a job to me. It is my Life's Work. My clients feel how much I care about them and have been experiencing profound positive life change through our work together. I am very invested in my study of traumatic stress and PTSD, especially using somatic-based experiential therapy to help my clients recover from its effects. I am passionate about working with clients of all ages whose lives have been impacted from trauma and grief, PTSD, addictions to dysfunctional, toxic relationships, drugs/alcohol and other self-destructive behavior. I am also strongly committed to helping clients to understand the Narcissistic Personality Disorder as well and learn emotional coping strategies for their empowerment.

It takes a lot of courage to be vulnerable and admit that you need help. I understand. I know that it can be scary.
