Dr. AnnMarie Whithed is a Psychologist located in Pensacola, FL with over 15 years of experience working with clients. She enjoys helping people find their inner strength and resilience as they begin to work through mental health challenges. Many of her clients need support to overcome grief, whether that’s from the loss of a relationship, loss of a loved one, or trauma. She also helps those with depression, anxiety, or PTSD. These challenges often come with a decrease in self-esteem, so Dr. Whithed strives to instill a sense of hope during each session.
Dr. Whithed draws from multiple evidence-based therapy modalities in her work with clients. She encourages clients to reflect on who they are at their cores and how they came to be that way, gently prompting them to be introspective. She also teaches clients how to identify their core values and reshape their lives around those core values so they can live through what’s important to them. She practices Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a therapy modality that focuses around thought patterns. CBT can be useful when boosting self-esteem because it directly combats thoughts of self-criticism and judgment. When appropriate, Dr. Whithed offers Christian counseling, which is an opportunity to reflect on mental health from a faith-based lens.
Dr. Whithed holds a PsyD. She is a strengths-based therapist who wholeheartedly believes that each person holds unique traits that make them resilient and strong. She is passionate about helping clients tap into this strength so they can overcome their mental health challenges.
