Dr. Kathryn Galbraith is a clinical psychologist who welcomes individual adult clients and couples into her private practice in Nashville, TN. Her clients are typically seeking help for personal issues, relationship difficulties, and life challenges. Dr. Galbraith understands, however, that her clients share two common bonds: emotional pain ranging from discomfort to desperation, and hope for a solution to that pain. And there is reason for optimism. People can change.
Dr. Galbraith has more than 25 years of extensive training and experience in numerous approaches and works with a large variety of clinical concerns. Most people have two or three core issues that create additional problems. Addressing these primary issues typically causes the others to lessen on their own, significantly reducing time and work therapy requires.
The defining characteristic of Dr. Galbraith’s practice is that therapy means change. It is the ultimate purpose of therapy. Her fondest hope is that her clients will change in meaningful and lasting ways. Change is meaningful when people move out of the deep unhealthy beliefs about themselves they brought into adulthood. It is lasting when people can’t return to those beliefs even if they wanted to. This level of change is truly life-altering.
Dr. Galbraith loves her work. She values the therapy fit so highly she doesn’t charge for the first session. Her warmth and empathy naturally create a foundation of trust. Clients know they can share their deepest concerns and will be met with respect and support.
Outside Private Practice: I love music and dogs! A dear memory: for seven years my little dog, Siena, and I were a nationally certified Pet Therapy team. We visited nursing homes and hospitals and I watched her impact life after life--and no one’s more than mine.
