Professional statement

Brittannie Moroz is a board-certified, Licensed Professional Counselor located in Lynchburg, VA. Brittannie is passionate about providing effective therapy services to individuals that have previously experienced trauma. She works with clients whose trauma came from neglect in childhood, abusive relationships as an adult, being a victim of a crime, or many other situations. This trauma may manifest in panic attacks, prolonged periods of sadness, difficulty trusting others, feeling detached from an authentic self, or addictive behaviors.

Brittannie provides trauma-informed therapy services for all clients, which means that she has additional training in how to ensure that all clients feel comfortable, safe, and secure in the therapy environment. She enjoys cultivating strong therapeutic relationships and supporting clients in making sense of their current troubles in the context of their life stories. To help clients metabolize their emotions and experience freedom from painful memories, she may offer empirically-supported modalities including Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT) or Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy. Her work with clients is client-led, as she collaborates with each client on their treatment plan and honors the client's expertise in their own life experiences. Brittannie will often also draw from mindfulness, somatic, and other holistic approaches to support clients in experiencing felt safety.

Brittannie’s goal in her therapy practice is for clients to feel seen, heard, understood, and known. She strives to create an atmosphere of non judgment, compassion, and empowerment as clients prioritize their mental health.

Message to clients

Have you ever felt like you know the tools that are supposed to help you manage your anxiety, relieve your depression, overcome stress, move forward from trauma, or thrive spiritually, yet still feel powerless against your pain? Or do you find you know something to be true in your mind but struggle to believe it wholeheartedly? Many clients come to me exhausted and trapped by the the same old aches they've always known. I provide education and guided practice in research-backed techniques to relieve symptoms, while my primary approach is focused on cultivating a safe, compassionate, nonjudgmental, and attuned therapeutic relationship for each client.

My clients have taught me time and again that it is through the experiencing of connected, safe, trusting relationship that our whole person (mind, body, heart, spirit) heals. I support clients to develop healthy coping habits and strategies through a relational context that seeks not only to relieve symptoms but also to heal the deeper wounds causing the symptoms. Relational wounds heal in relationship, but when we are hurting we may not know how to trust others or trust ourselves to be known. So, I specialize in fostering spaces for clients to learn to embrace the fullness of being heard, seen, safe, loved, and known.

My deep hope for you is that you find a safe, soft landing place to tend to your wounds. If you resonate with my approach, schedule a phone consultation and take the first step into being known, today.

Therapist's note

I understand that many clients want to use their insurance benefits to offset the cost of therapy. While I am not in-network with insurances, I do help clients leverage their out-of-network benefits to make sessions more affordable. This allows us to maintain more privacy while also making your insurance plan work for you! If you’re not sure if you have these benefits, schedule a phone consultation with me and I can help you check your eligibility.

Some clients prefer to submit claims on their own, whereas others like to utilize Mentaya, a platform that gets clients money back on their sessions by submitting out-of-network claims. If you qualify, Mentaya will handle everything with insurance to make sure you get your money back. They charge a 5% fee per claim and have helped people get thousands of dollars back per year. Note: Mentaya’s goal is to save you time and money. It’s completely optional, and as your therapist I do not benefit in any way from your participation.
