Carmel Lombardi is a therapist in Providence, RI with expertise in young adult challenges, adoption, parenting, child custody issues, anxiety, and depression. She has a background as an artist, which gives her an open-minded, creative perspective to therapy.
Carmel sees teenagers through adults, and particularly enjoys seeing young adults clients, including middle school students, college students, young professionals, and young parents. She also has a specialty in adoption and foster care based on her many years of experience as a social worker with Children's Friend, where she provided therapy and case management services for the foster care system.
Carmel utilizes a combination of Narrative Therapy, Trauma-informed therapy, Mindfulness, and Art. She is informed by, but not a strict practitioner of CBT. For individuals with anxiety, depression, trauma Carmel helps clients identify what they are feeling and learn self-regulation by incorporating healthy routines and habits in their lives. For individuals seeking support around child custody issues, she offers emotional support through the loss they are experiencing and helps clients understand their rights as a parent.
Carmel earned her Masters in Social Work from Rhode Island College. Her office is easily accessible from downtown Providence and College Hill, and has ample parking.
