Celesta is trained in cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, somatic and attachment focused eye movement desensitization and reprocessing, and solution-focused therapy. Her eclectic use of treatment modalities encourages the client to build awareness about how past events and relationships affect their current beliefs and behaviors.
In session, Celesta focuses on exploring core beliefs and how they developed; identifying healthy and unhealthy patterns of behavior and thinking; and teaching effective cognitive and behavioral skills for navigating stressful situations that trigger emotional dysregulation. This approach supports clients to experience significant "aha" moments that often lead to healthy changes in thinking and acting. Celesta's therapeutic style is creative, active, and encouraging. When clients first start therapy, Celesta works to establish a safe and comfortable therapeutic space where clients can discuss insights and information about their past and present life.
