Professional statement

If your physical health is impacting your mental health, welcome. Ginkgo Leaf Health Services is your place to heal.

Ginkgo Leaf Health Services is a virtual health counseling practice. Our providers support medical patients, caregivers, and healthcare workers by offering individual and group therapy. Mental health counselors at Ginkgo Leaf have previously worked in medical settings including emergency rooms, palliative care and cancer clinics, skilled nursing facilities, and outpatient primary care clinics.

We know that fear goes by many names, and injustice comes in many forms. We have supported patients and their families who are coping with diverse medical conditions such as cancer, ALS, POTS, adverse medication reactions, and medical errors. We have cared for medical providers through the rigors of academic training and experiences of vicarious traumatization, grief, and loss. We know that whether you are a patient, caregiver, or healthcare worker, you may be suffering, and we are here to help.

We offer online services because virtual care provides an opportunity for those with mobility and health issues to gain needed support, allows caregivers to meet without having to leave a loved one, and improves continuity of care for nursing or medical professionals who may travel or move for work. Additional services available to GLHS patients include pro bono financial counseling to address financial stress (e.g. medical and academic debt), and access to free courses and webinars to support healing and recovery.

We use evidence-based and trauma-focused treatments with our clients to help with mood, pain, and sleep. Come see if we are a good fit for you.

Current group offerings include:

-RISE for Women, an eight-week small group therapy program specifically designed for women who have experienced adverse medical events

-Caregiver Grief for Moms, an eight-week small group therapy program for mothers of medically complex children

Message to clients

Hello, I'm Dr. Mullane. I am a clinical psychologist with specialty experience working with medical stress and trauma, and the owner of Ginkgo Leaf Health Services. I am licensed under PsyPACT to work in multiple states. I am trained in evidence-based therapies such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for insomnia and chronic pain, as well as trauma-focused and mindfulness-based approaches to care. I have completed my 200-hour meditation teacher training, in which I learned to teach mindfulness in a trauma-informed and culturally responsive way.

At Ginkgo Leaf, I work alongside these genuine, warm, empathic individuals:

Theresa Ruggiero, LCSW, who has extensive background and training in working with patients with cancer and their caregivers.

Tess Kilwein, Ph.D., ABPP, who is trained in evidence-based trauma treatment and is passionate about working with medical providers

Jennifer Cain, Ph.D. who uses EMDR and somatic approaches to address changes to body functioning

Matt Maxwell, meditation coach and author who brings years of experience with mindfulness practice to support our clients in building and maintaining their own practice

Kip Walle, MBA, CFP who offers pro bono financial counseling to our clients

We are passionate about meeting you where you are, and helping you find a good fit with a person who will help you do good work. Please reach out with a bit of information about you, so that we can match you with the clinician who will best serve your needs. We look forward to meeting you!
