Professional statement

Devon Cozens is a licensed clinical social worker in Denver, CO. She specializes in helping individuals and people in relationships identify and exit negative patterns that are keeping them stuck. Getting stuck in these repetitive patterns can feel really defeating. She wants to be that little voice that reminds people there is more to life than this. “Pretty good” is pretty good, but does it have to be enough? Her approach with individuals is to help them slow down their experiences and get really clear about what is happening for them emotionally. Emotions move us into action, and we are often moving so fast and from such a protected place that we have NO clue what is driving us.

Devon's work with relationships is Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) informed. EFT is the gold standard for evidence-based relationship work and uses attachment science to help us understand what is at the heart of relationship distress. Devon aims to help people track and change negative patterns and connect more deeply, vulnerably, and meaningfully. Devon will focus on supporting the strength of the connection and believes that when relationships are the safe haven we know they can be, there is nothing we can’t do.

Message to clients

I believe in the transformative power of connection-- I have seen it change lives. Creating a strong, authentic relationship with the folks I work with is a dynamic tool for change and the priority of my practice. My ultimate goal is for you to feel truly seen and to know that you never, ever have to do anything alone.

I work with individuals and folks in relationships who are getting stuck in the same old patterns over and over. They’re starting to think that these patterns have been limiting. They want to live the most meaningful life possible and they know they’ll have to do some work to get there.

If you suspect some old stories and experiences are holding you back from being the best human beings you can be, you’re my people.
