Psychologist, PhDDr. Eleanor Ellis is a Psychologist located in Brentwood, TN. Dr. Ellis works with young adults and adults who have previously experienced adverse events. This trauma can manifest into anxiety, depression, difficulty in relationships, and more. Many of Dr. Ellis’ clients feel as if their minds and bodies are out of synchronization, and they seek ways to move past their PTSD and feel more whole as a person.
For clients whose trauma backgrounds interrupt their daily lives, Dr. Ellis utilized Cognitive Processing Therapy. This thought-based therapy modality helps clients better understand their thought patterns and recognize ways that their thoughts impact their emotional reactions. Dr. Ellis coaches clients through changing these patterns, and gives them a kind, warm space to process through what’s on their mind. Clients also have a chance to reflect on what’s important to them in their lives, centering their routines and decisions around their values, which can help them feel ownership over their lives once more. Dr. Ellis takes a collaborative, solutions-focused approach when working with her clients, allowing them to drive where the conversation goes.
Dr. Ellis has a PhD in Psychology. She has also received additional training in multicultural perspectives, so she enjoys working with people of diverse backgrounds, identities, and cultures. Her goal is to empower her clients to grow and to apply what they learn in session into their daily routines.
