Professional statement

Elissa Loock is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist who works with young adults and adults navigating anxiety, depression, grief and loss, trauma, relationship challenges, self-esteem concerns, major life transitions, and overwhelming stress. She is passionate about creating a safe and supportive space where clients can explore their experiences, better understand themselves, and develop meaningful tools for personal growth and healing.

Elissa has a special interest in supporting individuals experiencing significant life changes, including those impacted by cancer, chronic illness, terminal illness, caregiving responsibilities, and the emotional challenges that can come with unexpected changes in health or identity. She also provides LGBTQIA+ affirming care and values creating an inclusive environment where clients from all backgrounds feel respected, understood, and supported.

Elissa’s therapeutic approach is collaborative, compassionate, and tailored to each client’s unique needs. She incorporates elements of Narrative Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Existential Therapy, Experiential Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and strengths-based approaches. Through therapy, she helps clients identify patterns, process difficult emotions, strengthen coping skills, and reconnect with their values and personal strengths.

Elissa earned her Master’s Degree from Alliant International University and continues to expand her clinical work through a client-centered and trauma-informed lens. She believes therapy is not about telling clients who they should become, but helping them better understand themselves and create changes that align with the life they want to build.

Elissa provides therapy through Empowered Path Clinical Counseling and offers convenient telehealth sessions throughout California. She works collaboratively with clients to create a supportive therapeutic relationship focused on growth, healing, and lasting change.

Message to clients

Starting therapy can bring a mix of emotions, and my goal is to provide a space where you feel safe, accepted, and supported exactly where you are. I believe every person has their own story, strengths, and experiences that shape how they move through the world, and therapy is a place where we can explore those pieces together without judgment.

My approach is warm, collaborative, and personalized to you. Whether you are experiencing anxiety, grief, a major transition, relationship struggles, or simply feeling stuck, we will work together to better understand what you are going through and identify meaningful steps toward change.

I hope that through our work together you feel empowered to reconnect with yourself, recognize your strengths, and create a life that feels more balanced and fulfilling.
