Itzuri Hurtado LMFT, is a Bilingual Mental health therapist with more than 8 years of experience providing services in English and Spanish in California. Itzuri has clinical experience working with both youth and adults. Working with youth requires more creativity and talent and Itzuri is gifted for being able to connect emotionally with young ones. Additionally, Itzuri is trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and EFT (Emotion Focused Therapy).

Itzuri has extensive experience working with severe mental illness in both children and adults and working with families to create the ideal environment to overcome their challenges. Her experience includes both inpatient and outpatient treatment. Itzuri has a substantial background working with anxiety, complex trauma, depression, family issues, autism, challenging behaviors, divorce, and relational problems.

Our sessions are geared towards you applying the skills and techniques necessary to address your concerns, fears, or other symptoms appropriately. This includes how to affectively deal with anxiety and stress and to challenge behaviors such as anger or insecurity that interfere with your relationships and life goals.

As a psychotherapist, I am passionate about impacting my client’s life with making positive changes. I like to help my clients reach what I called “living paradise”. A place that includes love, happiness, fun, life purpose, meaningful friendships, and financial stability. I believe that all humans have the superpower of choice and together we can choose to create more joy in your life. I am compassionate, knowledgeable, and honoring of my clients’ unique experiences. I work with individuals of all ages to help them identify strengths and needs that can help them reach their “living paradise”.

The propose of my work with clients is to resolve past and present challenges, to identify and eliminate what is not working, and to concentrate on utilizing new possibilities.

Personal Interests:

I love nature and to be surrounded by trees, water, and animals. I am a certified scuba diver and enjoy exploring the ocean world. I also enjoy traveling and getting to know other countries and learning about different cultures, beliefs, traditions, and history. I also love to spend time with family and friends.
