Dr. Jennifer Murray is a Psychologist located in Briarcliff Manor, NY. Dr. Murray specializes in helping individuals, , couples and parents adjust through periods of high stress. She has experience working with clients across the life span to support them with their mental health needs. This includes anxiety, infertility, life transitions, work stressors, ADHD, relationship issues and communication issues. Dr. Murray also works with couples who would like to strengthen their relationship, especially in the areas of communication and conflict resolution. She also helps couples prepare for the arrival of a new baby, and as they adjust to life as new parents.
Dr. Murray creates a calm, therapeutic, kind space in her therapy sessions, whether she’s working with an individual, couple, or family. She recognizes that reaching out for help is difficult and that her clients have made a choice to prioritize their mental health and their relationships. She blends together multiple evidence-based therapy modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Family Systems Therapy, and Solutions-focused Therapy. Clients set goals for themselves, whether that’s to decrease their anxiety, cope with a new life transition, grow trust in their partner, or build a deeper bond with their child. Dr. Murray encourages clients to think about their habits and patterns to determine what’s holding them back from reaching these goals. She also provides space for clients to talk about their feelings, which could include frustration, anxiety, disappointment, or anger. By processing through these feelings, clients leave therapy feeling heard and validated.
Dr. Murray earned a PsyD from Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology of Yeshiva University. She is a Certified Clinical Telehealth Health Provider and 1,2,3 Magic Parent Trainer. She has extensive experience as a school psychologist and has spent the last ten years collaborating with clients.
