Professional statement

Dr. Jolie Weingeroff is a Clinical Psychologist at PVD Psychological Associates in Providence, RI. She has advanced training in evidence-based therapies such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) for adolescents and adults of all ages. Her areas of specialization include: workaholism and executive coaching, burnout, student mental health, eating disorders, low self esteem, and relationship difficulties. She also provides LGBTQIA Affirming Therapy.

Dr. Weingeroff‘s clients are often high achieving individuals who put a lot of pressure on themselves to perform and subsequently experience anxiety and other difficulties. Dr. Weingeroff draws heavily from her intensive training in dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) to teach coping skills to navigate continuous stress, burnout, and workaholism. Many of her clients are individuals who find themselves turning to work, achievements, and external validation to regulate their emotions and sense of self-worth. Dr. Weingeroff works with her clients to establish more sustainable and effective ways of coping and correcting poor and unstable self-esteem. She also works with individuals to increase their ability to regulate their emotions so that they generally feel more stable. She ultimately wants her clients to feel prepared and empowered to live authentically and in line with their personal values and goals.

Dr. Weingeroff also works extensively with individuals with eating disorders, low self-esteem, and relationship difficulties. She implements skills and strategies from acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), CBT, and DBT to address the challenges her clients may be facing in their relationships with others and themselves. She also works with clients to identify patterns in behavior and relationships that will allow them insight and tools to make lasting change.

Message to clients

I believe that the therapeutic relationship is the foundation of treatment. As such, I maintain a validating environment to explore and develop a shared understanding of what brings my clients to therapy and how we can work together to accomplish specific goals and develop insight.

I frequently work with my clients to develop skills to manage their emotions, regulate self-esteem, and establish deeper, more meaningful relationships. My style is direct, active, and flexible, with a focus on what works for each individual client. My clients would describe me as authentic and able to challenge them in a respectful and caring manner. My hope is for each client I work with to find and express their true selves.

I appreciate how challenging the process of change can be and have a great deal of respect for anyone seeking treatment. It is a privilege to accompany my clients as they develop a greater sense of fulfillment in life and more confidence in their ability to manage challenges. I look forward to hearing from you so we can begin this important process together!
