Julia Lehrman is a Licensed psychotherapist located in San Francisco, CA. Julia works with adults, young adults, and couples whose anxiety, depression, and trauma negatively impact their daily lives, including their relationships. These mental health conditions may result in low self-esteem, existential angst, or difficulty coping with change. Many of Julia’s patients feel disconnected from themselves because of the amount of stress they feel each day. They’re searching for a more effective way of communicating with those around them and ways to manage their emotions without lashing out or withdrawing from others.
Julia’s approach to therapy begins with recognizing that each patient arrives at therapy with their own unique traits and experiences. Her goal is to support patients as they work towards self-discovery and healing transformation by getting to the root of their issues. She draws from attachment theory in her sessions, encouraging patients to consider how their past experiences of relating to others influence how they navigate the world. Julia offers depth-oriented therapy (psychodynamic and psychoanalytic treatment) and is also trained in CBT, ACT, and Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy.
Julia attended graduate school at New York University. She is trained through Stanford University in cultivating compassion for the self and others using mindfulness and meditation. She has a certificate in Psychedelic Assisted Therapy and Research from the California Institute of Integral Studies. She is also a Registered Yoga Teacher and taught yoga in New York City and San Francisco for 10 years. Julia is currently training to become a psychoanalyst at the Psychoanalytic Institute of Northern California. Julia uses her expertise to support patients as they create healthier patterns in their lives and in their relationships. Julia offers in-person, video, and phone sessions.
