Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, LCPCShe/Her/Hers
Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, LCPCKara Lukowski, owner of Counseling With Ayurveda, LLC, is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in Maryland, who has a holistic counseling practice that works with many modalities. A theme of her work is assisting clients to become more connected in their head and heart, so that one feels they are living in alignment with their values and beliefs. Often a client comes in due to painful interpersonal issues, anxiety, depression, anger, impulsivity, addictions, low self-esteem, mood disorders, grief and loss, or because they are suffering with post-traumatic stress due to a recent or past trauma. Kara is a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional and has many tools to help someone heal and repair parts that feel broken.
What makes Kara’s practice unique, in addition to being a Certified Integrative Mental Health Professional, is her background working in the field of ayurvedic medicine and yoga. This allows her a broader lens with which to perceive imbalances in body and mind and a robust tool kit of therapeutics to help you find relief. She is also a practitioner of the Vedic astrology system which can be supportive in the therapeutic process to help you understand deep seated karmas, patterns, and even timings of life cycles. She is experienced in 12-step programs and supports the inner work that unfolds through that process.
She uses a strengths based approach along with other modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, Solution Focused Therapy and Family Systems. Kara is compassionate, non-judgmental and inclusive. She values the cultural differences we all have and is committed to helping you reach your goals. She offers the flexibility of remote Telehealth sessions and is welcoming new clients to her online practice.
