Professional statement

Kat Vollono is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker located in New York, NY. Kat helps clients who either aren’t sure what exactly isn’t working in their lives or aren’t sure what to do to feel better. They face relationship issues, anxiety especially in the face of internal pressure for perfection, or want to feel a greater sense of meaning or purpose in their lives. Kat is a trauma-informed therapist who supports clients as they make sense of painful past experiences and grow from developing greater self-awareness and insight into their lives.

Kat’s approach to therapy draws from many evidence-based therapy modalities, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, somatic therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Kat first creates an atmosphere that is warm, compassionate, and safe for clients to talk vulnerably about what’s on their minds. She builds strong trust with her clients and leans on this relationship to mirror back the clients’ words and ideas. Clients learn how to put difficult trauma behind them and focus instead on the future. They also learn how to identify negative thought patterns that lead to discomfort, especially thoughts that are self-critical. Kat is a feminist, strengths-based therapist who enjoys talking about the role of identity and social justice topics in her work with clients.

Kat earned a Master’s degree in Social Work from Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College. She has nearly ten years of experience working with and supporting clients through various life challenges, roadblocks, and mental health conditions.

Message to clients

Hi, my name is Kat, I am a psychotherapist.

Are you ready to start feeling guilt-free, grounded, bold, and authentic?

Are you ready to make more money, speak your mind without fear, and connect more deeply with your most important relationships?

But this guilt and shame thing…. again…

You keep hearing this little voice that says “It’s not important”, “You’re not worth that”, and “What will they think of you!?”.

You know that promotion isn’t going to come your way unless you ask it, but you just. feel. guilty. You said yes again to your coworker even though you wanted to say no, and now you have an extra pile of papers on your desk that you REALLY don’t need. You need a vacation. You need… 10 vacations. This has to stop, but how? You don’t know where to start.

You want more for your life. You want to feel less overwhelmed, overworked, and burdened. You want to feel joy. You want a partner that looks you deeply in the eyes and says, “I love you, it’s going to be ok”.

You have a vision for your life that is comfortable, kinder, and more fulfilling. You want a partner who supports you, friends to laugh deeply with, and the freedom to make money without feeling guilty.

It’s time to make this your reality. You don’t have another moment to waste. Get in touch and we can see if we would be a good fit to work together.
