Professional statement

Lauren Gargano is a psychotherapist in New York and Florida with over 14 years of experience. She works with individuals who are facing stress, anxiety, depression, self-esteem, life transitions and trauma. She has experience helping with communication struggles in relationships, both personal and professional, general relationship dissatisfaction and dating concerns. She works with individuals and couples.

Understanding that all symptoms are rooted in past experiences, Lauren will help guide you through bridging the gap between present struggles and your past to unlock the keys to long-lasting resolve. She has post-graduate training in psychotherapy and psychoanalysis, advanced training that has prepared her to lead you through this process in order to make sense of your world and alleviate your symptoms.

She has also created mental health education classes for the public to provide the information you need to understand any obstacle - BeingHuman-101. These classes are not a substitute for therapy, but are a great addition if you are looking for more information on human functioning.

Each person is unique, and deserves to be met where they are. Lauren customizes her therapy to suit the individual to ensure that you feel understood and satisfied. She takes a warm and collaborative approach, so that you may feel safe to explore difficult feelings and experiences.

Message to clients

Finding a therapist can feel like an overwhelming process! Once you've decided on one, it's important to feel comfortable and supported during your time together. I provide a warm and welcoming environment in which you and I can work together towards greater understanding of whatever is ailing you. Overtime, your enhanced understanding of your struggles, yourself and your environment will allow for greater choices, better decisions, finer communication skills and relief from symptoms. We will collaborate to tackle whatever issues come your way.

Whether seeking therapy as an individual or a couple, regular therapy sessions provide an opportunity to check in with yourself to determine what you are feeling and how it can be addressed. Consistent and ongoing sessions allow us to build a relationship in which you can feel safe and comfortable to explore whatever is on your mind. If you'd like to work together, we'll find a regular time to meet every week (or more frequently if desired) so that your treatment is prioritized and assured.

If this interests you and you'd like to hear more about how I may be able to help, please do not hesitate to reach out for a phone consultation or first session.
