Professional statement

Lauren Levy LMFT is a psychotherapist in Los Angeles, California, who works with individuals and couples across the adult lifespan, with a focus on those who are seeking to create meaningful change in their lives.

Whether it’s clients who are navigating complicated dynamics with their parents, those who struggle with the wide range of ADHD taxes, clients who are coping with loss or adapting to a life transition, or those who are confronting relational issues, Lauren is passionate about helping adults heal and feel more empowered and at peace with their sense of self.

Lauren is led by the belief that each client is incredibly unique, so she doesn’t rely on a rigid formula to facilitate discovery and change. Instead, she tailors evidence-based practices and utilizes universal factors to help clients explore, heal, rebuild, and break cycles. More specifically, Lauren tends to utilize EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing) for complex trauma, parts work for childhood wounds, ACT/Mindfulness for depression and anxiety, executive functioning skills for ADHD, Gottman-inspired techniques for relationship conflicts, and an ever-present culturally-responsive process for honoring and amplifying intersectionality.

Lauren’s multidimensional background helped to shape this current style and approach to therapy; from perspective-taking and collaborating throughout her former careers in advertising and education, to inclusive coursework at USC, hands-on supervision from experienced mentors at sites like Kaiser, specialized training in areas like trauma, and most importantly, to years of relationship-building with clients from all walks of life.

Message to clients

Every one of us deserves joy, peace-of-mind, and well-being. We deserve to reach our full potential. Yet, somewhere along the way, we are diverted--oftentimes when our past burdens us, change upsets us, or unmet expectations disappoint us. Attempting to make sense of the distress, we engage in patterns that seem to comfort us, but in actuality, they move us further away from growth and the very things that have the power to fulfill us. Whatever your reason is for therapy, I aim to help pinpoint these patterns, rewrite your story, and guide you in finding your way towards the positive life aspects that you're worthy of experiencing.

Led by the belief that each client is incredibly unique, I don't rely on a rigid formula, but utilize universal factors and tailor evidence-based practices to facilitate discovery and change. Aside from your own dedication and bravery, one of the most crucial components of therapy is your comfort and our relationship.

As your therapist, I seek to foster a culturally-sensitive and nurturing space. I offer unwavering empathy, validation, humor, and patience as you face, explore, and work through issues that hold you back. My ultimate hope is to inspire growth, as you come out on the other side feeling more self-aware, fulfilled, and empowered.
