Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker, LICSWShe/Her/Hers
Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker, LICSWLeslie Miller is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker located in Newton, MA. Leslie specializes in helping individuals who have been impacted by toxic or codependent relationships, relationship issues, or narcissistic abuse. Many of her clients find themselves stuck in relationships that devastate their mental health, leaving them to feel overwhelmingly anxious, scared, or emotionally exhausted. These relationships may be traumatic and even when left, still cause painful memories or emotions. Leslie helps clients navigate the transitions out of the harmful relationships and move towards a more comfortable state of emotions.
Leslie’s approach to therapy is trauma-informed, meaning that she has additional training in working with clients who suffer from the aftereffects of traumatic experiences. For this reason, she spends time creating a safe, secure atmosphere for clients as they become more comfortable talking about their emotions. She utilizes a trauma informed approach and is certified in complex trauma (CCTP I/II), EMDR and mindfulness-based therapy to offer clients tools to use when they start to feel overwhelmed. She also encourages clients to participate in yoga/movement therapy, as she believes that movement can help excise lingering trauma
Leslie earned a Master’s degree in Social Work from Fordham University. She has over 25 years of experience helping clients, as well as certificates in Trauma-Informed Yoga and Divorce Mediation. She helps clients feel empowered to make their own decisions, including to prioritize their own mental health.
