Professional statement

Lindsey (pronouns: she/her) is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and Board Certified Art Therapist. She prioritizes creating an inviting, nonjudgmental, and welcoming space that promotes meaningful and lasting change. Lindsey believes healing happens through a collaborative relationship between client and therapist, with emphasis on her clients’ knowledge of their lived experiences. She prioritizes empowerment through examining how clients have been impacted by societal influences related to race, gender, sexuality, and socioeconomic status, and exploring ways clients can grow within their intersectional identities.

Lindsey works with individuals ages 12 and above on therapeutic goals related to depression, anxiety, trauma, complex trauma, executive functioning, gender identity, and LGBTQIA+ identities. She pulls from a wide range of techniques, including Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Motivational Interviewing, and Somatic Therapies to address the individual needs of her clients.

As an Art Therapist, Lindsey utilizes the inherent healing nature of creativity to assist clients in their therapeutic journey. Lindsey believes art is a healing tool that can be utilized by anyone, no matter their skill level. She adapts techniques to her client’s abilities to emphasize the therapeutic value of the artistic process, allowing clients to immerse themselves in emotional expression, processing, and regulation.

Before joining Nosh Family Therapy, Lindsey worked in a variety of settings including adult inpatient programs, community mental health, school settings, and private practice. She holds a Master of Art in Counseling and Art Therapy from Adler University.

Message to clients

I'm consistently and forever floored by how resilient we are. We have learned to navigate so much in our lives. We have overcome pain, experienced joy, endured monotony, and gone through every feeling in between. Therapy is perfect for honing the information we already contain while adding skills and processes that strengthen that self-knowledge.

Therapy is all about creating a space that is going to be helpful to you and you alone. When working with me we're going to get into it. I want to help you understand you, your identity, what influences you, your values, what motivates you and what drags you down. We'll look at how you navigate the world currently. And then let's figure out what changes would help you. Not what changes you THINK you need to make, but the ones that are actually going to support you.

This work is hard, and you can do it. I hope I can be a support in that process.
