Maya Robinson is Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Community Zumba Instructor serving communities around Chicago. She has completed her master’s degree in social work at Chicago State University, with direct practice as her concentration. Maya's journey started as the oldest of seven children. The ages range from 33 yrs. to 15yrs. She has raw experience with moments such as
potty training and puberty and early adulthood challenges. With so many siblings, Maya learned to listen, care to their feelings, patience, strength and responsibility. Her passion to help others set off from there. Maya loves to work with young adults (college age), teens, adults and community organizations. Maya is particularly passionate about cultural healing. She loves incorporating mental health with affirmation statements, movement and trauma-informed education. Outside of the office, you can find Maya teaching a Zumba Class somewhere because dancing is her joy. Maya's social work experience inspired her to create a business called THEEAYAMOVEMENT(T.AM.). This initiative provides wellness and healing in urban communities of Chicago. They specialize in Zumba classes, meditation, and movement activities, all infused with powerful affirmations to build body positivity and self-esteem. T.A.M's aims to facilitate growth through body positivity, movement, and mental health education.
