Michele Stamper is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist located in Costa Mesa, CA. Michele is passionate about working with individuals and couples struggling with their mental health after traumatic experience, as well as those whose people pleasing takes a toll on their well-being. Many of Michele’s clients resort to codependency in their relationships, or they feel continuously afraid that their loved ones will abandon them. Their feelings of shame are overwhelming, and they turn to therapy to find a way forward.
Michele’s approach to therapy is based in somatic therapy. She brings together the mind and the body to develop a mutual understanding as well as find equilibrium that’s more comfortable for both. She teaches them how to regulate their mind-body connection through Polyvagal Theory practice. She also helps clients quiet their intrusive thoughts and process through their instincts to engage with shame and anxiety. With Michele’s support, clients discover blind spots that have kept them from finding a sense of inner peace, and they begin to listen to their inner voice.
Michele earned a Master’s degree from Vanguard University and has nearly 10 years of experience as a therapist. She also holds certification in the topics of Neuroaffective Touch, somatic processing, and somatic Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). Her goal is to help clients find peace and to develop ways to ground themselves without becoming overwhelmed by anxiety or self-judgment.
