Nicole Ford, LICSW has been working with teens and adults in her private practice for 18 years. She works with individuals 16+ on a variety of issues including life transitions, relationship issues, personal growth and fulfillment goals, anxiety and depression.
Nicole listens deeply to understand concerns, and then works with each person to create individualized treatment plans, identifying what will help them get relief and live happier, more satisfying and fulfilling lives. Nicole helps her clients prioritize responsible self-care and healthy boundaries, and offers them skills to relax their bodies, calm their minds and navigate stressors, challenges and decisions with confidence. Sessions often include "insight oriented discussion" of life challenges and events to increase self-awareness and identify adaptive changes and solutions, as well as psycho-education to introduce new skills and concepts. Depending on client goals and interests, she may offer homework, including reading, worksheets, workbooks, meditations or yoga poses.
Nicole draws several therapeutic modalities that help clients learn skills to think in ways that are helpful and productive, to cultivate positive mindsets, to manage uncomfortable emotions and to give their time and attention to what they truly value in life. She refers to the wisdom of many teachers and authors in her work, and has a long list of book summaries and recommendations to offer clients, in addition to several ebooks she has written to support her practice. Nicole is warm, non-judgemental, seasoned and supportive, and she is committed to helping people self-actualize and live authentic, joyful and meaningful lives.
