Raina earned her Bachelors degree in Psychology from Sarah Lawrence College, and holds a Master of Arts in Psychological Counseling as well as Master of Education in Mental Health Counseling from Teachers College, Columbia University. Prior to her private practice, Raina worked in variety of clinical settings, including outpatient mental health clinic, various private practices and early childhood settings.
Raina's approach to therapy is trauma-informed and client-centered. Raina will work to bring your body and mind into the room to find a greater sense of agency and autonomy. Guided by cultural perspective, Raina works with clients to address emotional challenges around identity, relationships, life transitions, trauma, grief and loss.
As a first-generation, South Asian women of color, Raina is able to relate to the challenges that women of minority backgrounds experience. Raina is passionate about working with women of color to identify ways they can develop coping strategies, create positive change, and enhance their inner strengths. Raina is trained in EMDR to address complex trauma and earned a Certificate from the BECK Institute in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Anxiety.

Life transitions - Coping with difficult or impactful life changes, such as moving to a new area, relationship transitions, child rearing, or career changes; learning self-care to better manage resulting stress
Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) - Healing painful experiences and memories from the past
Trauma - Coping and healing after threatening or scary events, such as witnessing accidents or experiencing sexual, verbal, emotional, or physical abuse
Family issues - Promoting communication and supporting family members to address challenges and reduce conflict and distress
Attachment issues - Development of effective relational and communication skills; insight into family attachment patterns;fostering healthy family relationships.
