Professional statement

Dr. Ryan Daniels brings experience working with a broad range of individuals, from adolescents to older adults, including those who are seeking mental health treatment for the first time as well as those more familiar with the positive life changes that can be achieved through therapy. He has worked with patients experiencing a wide range of issues, such as depression and anxiety, major life transitions, grief and loss, work, family and relationship stress, complex trauma (abuse, neglect, exposure to violence) ,as well as those coping with severe mental illness, and addiction.

He works from a client-centered approach, focusing on the three most important components of therapy:

Unconditional positive regard - involves accepting and supporting the client without any conditions.

Empathy involves understanding and sharing the feelings of the client.

Congruence refers to the therapist being genuine and transparent. Dr. Daniels' role is to create a safe, non-judgmental environment that encourages self-exploration and self-understanding, facilitating the client’s natural tendency toward self-actualization.

Message to clients

My philosophical perspective in therapy has remained steadfast in believing that you are the expert on your own life. My focus in therapy is to honor your own personal values in order to best help you resolve conflicts, heal from emotional wounds, and overcome barriers that prevent you from emotional growth. Together we will pursue personal goals, develop new insights, and ultimately recognize the strength you have within yourself to live a richer, more authentic life.

A typical therapy session with me will focus on building a trusting environment, understanding your own personal treatment goals, and working from various psychotherapeutic techniques (e.g. CBT, DBT, ACT and psychodynamic/relational therapy) as needed. I am always open to discussing the process we share in therapy, and adjusting as needed to fit your needs.
