Professional statement

Ryan Scott Brewer is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Yogi who holds dual Master’s Degrees in Spiritual Psychology and Depth Psychology.  With over 15 years of experience studying the mind/body connection, Ryan works from an East/West perspective that blends the ancient healing practices of yoga and meditation with cutting edge neuroscience. He is trained in the trauma models TRM/CRM & EMDR, as well as CBT/DBT, and is currently pursuing ongoing education in psychedelic assisted psychotherapy.

Despite his education and experience, it has been proven that the most effective component of therapy is the quality of the relationship between Therapist and client. Therefore, it is very important to Ryan that you find a Therapist that you click with! He encourages you to reach out to him, and a few others, to find someone that feels right.

Message to clients

So many of us come to therapy because we are hurting. Whether this hurt manifests as relationship issues, addiction, anxiety, depression, or stress about world events, I love helping people discover their inner strengths by healing the parts inside that hurt. Wounds from the past, coupled with internal conflict and judgements about self and others stifle one's ability to grow and change.

By compassionately healing these wounds and releasing judgments we quite naturally feel more whole, connected, and joyful.  Soon we realize that we are so much more than our perceived issues! From this space we are free to create a deeper, connected, and more meaningful life.

Specialties

Trauma - Coping and healing after threatening or scary events, such as witnessing accidents or experiencing sexual, verbal, emotional, or physical abuse

Anxiety - Coping with excessive worry, nervousness, or stress; intense discomfort in social settings (social anxiety); sudden and intense feelings of panic (panic disorder)

Psychedelic Integration - Psychedelics and Holotropic Breathwork are gaining popularity for accelerating the healing process. Integrating these experiences is said to be more important than the experience itself.

Couples counseling - Addressing relationship challenges and life transitions; strengthening communication and feelings of security, desire, connection, and love

Mindfulness - Developing practices to encourage a state of active, open attention on the present

Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy - Facilitated through a partnership with a highly regarded doctor, your therapist will help facilitate this psychedelic experience aimed at relieving anxiety and depression.
