Sara Gourley is a Licensed Professional Counselor working with highly sensitive, high-achieving adults who have spent years being the capable one — thoughtful, responsible, often the person others lean on — while privately carrying something that doesn't show. Many of her clients have a rich inner world and a quiet sense of never quite being met at the depth they actually live. They don't need to become someone different. What they're looking for is already in them — Sara's role is to help them access it, at a pace that feels safe.
Sara's approach is relational, experiential, and paced to meet each person where they are — in the stories they carry, their body, and the relational space between them. Drawing from Gestalt therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, parts work, and somatic awareness, sessions focus on present-moment experience, emotional depth, and the patterns that developed in response to early relational wounds. This work supports greater self-trust, nervous system steadiness, and more authentic ways of relating to self and others.
Sara holds a Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Idaho State University, with additional training in trauma-informed care, EFT, and somatic therapy. Before becoming a counselor, she spent over a decade supporting senior leaders in high-pressure corporate environments — an experience that directly informs her work with high-achieving adults navigating stress, identity, and burnout.
She currently offers online counseling to adults throughout Idaho, with availability for new clients.
