Seth Golub is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the SF East Bay, and welcomes families, couples, and adults of all ages. Many of Seth’s clients come in to address current challenges (anxiety, depression, relationship, family, career, and grief/loss), as well as lifelong impacts of trauma and attachment disruptions.
Seth enjoys helping individuals navigating life transitions and supporting families of children with special needs. He has advanced experience working with individuals with ADHD, BPD, complex PTSD, ASD, chronic pain, complicated bereavement, and job/career challenges.
Seth's style is warm, collaborative, and solution focused. He uses evidence-based therapies and skills training (DBT, ACT, CBT), within an attachment- and strength-based framework. While taking time to explore and understand the impact of the past on current beliefs, behaviors, and relationships, Seth’s primary goal is partnering with clients to identify and achieve meaningful goals and “here and now” improvements that are consistent with their own, authentic values.
When appropriate, Seth draws on lessons learned from 30 years of marriage, parenting two children (one neurodiverse), and three decades of professional experience as a tech executive, founder, management consultant, and executive coach.
In addition to private practice, Seth served as Director of the Residential Treatment Center at La Cheim Behavioral Health, where he also provided individual and group therapy in the Partial Hospitalization Program, led the DBT, Career, and Memory/Focus groups, and provided individual and group support to survivors of suicide loss.
Seth is a long-time outdoor enthusiast and former wilderness first responder. He offers outdoor therapeutic and challenge experiences for interested clients where clinically safe and appropriate.
Seth offers remote therapy sessions, as well as in- person meetings in office and outdoor/park settings.
