Professional statement

Shannon has over a decade of experience helping clients manage and heal through anxiety, depression, trauma or overall distress. She has deep understanding of how to transform suffering into strength by using skilled inquiry in talk therapy as well as the creative process. Through working with Shannon, clients can better understand themselves and their potential. This is because Shannon has both professional and personal experience using various forms of self-expression to help her clients address complex and difficult thoughts, feelings and experiences and dialogue with them in order to make them more manageable.

In sessions clients can expect to use mindfulness as well as existential and psychodynamic therapies that encourage authentic self-expression. Shannon is also trained in art therapy, has taken post-graduate credits in existential psychoanalytic therapy, has training in MBSR and DBT. She also holds memberships to professional organizations such as the American Art Therapy Association and New England Center for Existential Therapy. She is dedicated to building her skills and enriching her practice to provide the best treatment possible to her clients.

Message to clients

Welcome to therapy! Good work getting started. My intention with all my clients is to help you manage the emotional and mental obstacles that come with things like depression ,anxiety, trauma or major life changes. We'll help you use creativity and other skills to build a tool kit to help you achieve your "best self".

Our sessions are dependent upon what you want to get out of session. We might do plain old talk therapy, mindfulness or another kind of skill-building. We might do art or a meditation. These things are available anytime but usually come up organically.

I see all my clients virtually and I am open to a sliding scale for someone who might be paying out of pocket. If you are a parent, looking for therapy for your child, I see adolescents ages 12 and up. I find it's best when parents are able be involved and give input for their child's treatment but also trust the process of therapy by respecting their child's need for confidentiality.

I welcome all my clients into my practice with an open mind and an open heart. Sign up for a consult call or message me and we can get things started for you!
