Sheila Murray is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor serving Montana and Florida. She works primarily with women. Many of Sheila’s clients come seeking help with navigating difficult transitions, coming to terms with loss, coping with trauma or making big life changes, such as physical moves, career change, break-ups and moving into leadership roles. Sheila is particularly passionate about serving women , and those who are interested in becoming more independent and empowered; she has the skills to help her clients move beyond the limits of old wounds and outworn patterns.
Sheila collaborates with her clients as they tap into the inherent wisdom of their bodies and psyches, moving through blocks, triggers and old hang-ups. Sheila has extensive training in Natural Processing, which is a blend of Somatic Experiencing and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). Her approach is trauma informed and is influenced by Internal Family Systems, polyvagal theory, dreamwork and the cultural context of each individual client.
Her style is warm and active. She works with her client’s priorities and pacing, with an emphasis on clients' safety and sovereignty. Sheila is committed to having authentic, brave and empathic relationships with her clients.
Sheila received her Counseling degree at Pacifica Graduate Institute in 2003. She gained experience working in schools, community mental health centers and inpatient psychiatric units before launching her private practice nine years ago. In addition to ongoing professional trainings, Sheila has studied nature-based soul work with Animas Valley Institute and continues to weave nature based perspectives into her work with clients.
