Message to clients

Hi. I’m Dr. Shelley Anderson. I have been a dedicated psychotherapist for 35 years. For me there is no personal endeavor of greater value. I’ve devoted my professional life working with persons initially hurting, sad or anxious but wanting to improve the quality of their lives. .

I work with individuals, couples, families, and groups. The persons who come to my office or with whom I meet on video have found themselves wrestling with real life difficulties. You may be feeling sadness, worry, disappointment which arise in living, or you may have misconnections with persons with whom you most wish to be in harmony. . Perhaps you have experienced loss, recent or past and live with the pain privately. It is possible you have experienced trauma or cruelty. These issues are true for many of us. These agonies have become the background buzzing of our everyday lives. We may believe we can tune these vibrations out, but they continue to reverberate in our lives and hearts.

If you are seeking help, you need someone with not only skills and experience but with a kind human touch. I listen intently and respectfully. I provide a safe environment to work with you, so we together move toward goals which have up until now seemed to be beyond your grasp.

Relief, playfulness, curiosity, and pleasure belong in all our lives. I'm here to help.

I invite you to contact me.

Therapist's note

Individual sessions are 60 minutes and the fee is $250. Couples and/or family sessions are 90 minutes. The fee is $360. Payment is expected at the close of each session. At the end of the month I give a bill with proper codes, paid in full which clients can submit to their insurance providers for posssible reimbursement. I encourage people to check with their insurance provider to see about reimbursment. It varies from company to company.

In certain circumstances I do consider negotiating a fee ($225) if the patient is committed to therapy and finances are truly a hardship. Sometimes millenials parents' pay the therapy bill. In these cases I do encourage people in their 20's and thirties when working on being more independent to contribute something of their own income to their therapy if realistic.

Some clients prefer to pay out of pocket as they do not want the insurance company to have personal information regarding very personal events.
