Dr. Stefanie Landau is a clinical psychologist practicing in Arlington Massachusetts. She is also licensed in NY and DE. She has extensive training in psychodynamic and relational interventions, particularly in treating those struggling with compulsive or addictive behaviors such as eating disorders, workaholism, OCD, and exercise addiction. She utilizes a gentle and direct approach where trust and connection serve as the foundation of the therapeutic relationship. This allows clients to feel safe enough to tolerate the discomfort of change and growth.
Dr. Landau utilizes the therapeutic relationship as a tool. Oftentimes the dynamics in our lives outside of therapy get replayed within the therapeutic relationship. This allows for an in-vivo opportunity to notice our attachment patterns, assumptions and expectations of others, tendencies to respond in ways that are ingrained and automatic. Once we become aware of these patterns, we develop space to change them.
Dr. Landau sees clients both in person in Arlington MA and remotely. She sees individuals, couples and runs interpersonal process groups for those seeking to expedite their healing journey. She invites you to reach out for a free consultation call to get a feel for how she works and whether you might be a good fit.
