Her main area of focus is assisting individuals manage issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, self-harm, social problems, and adjustment to life transitions however, her previous experience includes working with couples, career counseling, children and families in the foster care and CPS system, juvenile justice, substance abuse programs, and school-based therapy programs in the Austin area.
Susan approaches her work in a culturally sensitive, inclusive, trauma-informed, and collaborative manner and works to develop a safe, caring, and empowering space where clients can find healing and seek solutions that will bring about lasting change. She often utilizes therapeutic approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy, Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing, Strengths-Based and Solution-Focused techniques.
Susan's completed her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Texas State University and graduated with a 4.0 and Master’s degree in Counseling from University of Texas at San Antonio. In addition, she was an Adjunct Psychology Instructor for four years at a local college where she taught General Psychology, Social Psychology, and Human Sexuality courses.
