Professional statement

I came to this work as a mental health professional after a lifetime of being seen as someone with their shit together, ahead of the curve, and was overall "fine" (cue burning building). Now I transform those years of experience into helping other high-achievers heal and recover from shame, loneliness and self-doubt. My treatment approach is strategic, holistic, and highly interpersonal.

I primarily serve successful leaders and senior level executives who look like they have it all; but are struggling internally with perfectionism, inner-criticism, and racing thoughts. My clients often start therapy about how bad they feel because they know they're fortunate and privileged, but can't shake the unhappiness no matter how hard they try.

My clients are super smart and highly motivated, with high standards for their work, relationships, and overall way of life. They often come to therapy because they feel stuck – which is uncomfortable and foreign, given how good they usually are at achieving their goals.

I help people get from where they are to where they want to be, whether that means being more fulfilled or better compensated at work, finding a partner, building healthier, happier relationships in general, or making a cross-country move. My passion is helping other's live their best lives, as I do her best to live mine.

Therapy with me is intended to be as comfortable – and effective – as possible. I channels my love for my work into the therapy, while safely and skillfully addressing my clients' most pressing concerns.

Tessa Sinclair is a licensed Marriage & Family Therapist and Small Business Owner, serving the San Francisco Bay Area and beyond since 2016. The transition to a fully online platform in 2020 extended her reach, and she now delights in doing impactful psychotherapy work with individuals all over California.

Message to clients

Hi! I hope you're doing well enough.

Sometimes our pain can be hard to articulate, or our problems may seem small–especially in comparison to others. I really get that, and I'd love to try and help.

Your work can be frustrating, with so much pressure on you and so little gained in return besides the paycheck. Maybe a promotion. Overworked and under-acknowledged, you don't feel great, but know it could be so. much. worse. Still you can't help but wish you had more time, energy, peace of mind.

I'll help you change that.

As my client, expect to increase your insight and self-awareness and learn skills and strategies to apply in your daily life. A focus of our work will be teaching you how to "be" present with what is, without continuing to get hurt.

From years of personal and professional experience, I know how difficult – and rewarding! – this can be. I've been to many therapists myself over the years and attribute my successes and sense of fulfillment largely to all of this personal work.

I know how powerful and effective good therapy and focused self-work can be. It improves our lives and world.

If this resonates with you, please reach out to schedule a free consultation.

I'll be happy to answer any questions you may have. Then we can begin to explore your intentions and goals for therapy, and whether we're a good fit to pursue that path together. I look forward to hearing from you!
