Message to clients

How uncomfortable do you have to be to make a change? It's human to be afraid of the unknown. Sometimes we know we need to make changes, but aren't sure how to, when, or even what needs to change. What supports might help us along the way? Sometimes we need an empathetic ear to hear our stories to help us make sense of what we have going on in our lives. Whether it is career challenges, family or relationship issues, coming out a bit later in life, or the existential questions that have your mind racing, therapy can help dial down the noise so that you can hear yourself.

I have a straightforward approach. If you are ready to make changes, to feel better, to change the direction your story is heading, I might be the right therapist for you. I begin sessions asking what goal or focus you have for the session to ensure your needs are central. My therapeutic approach includes Acceptance and Commitment Therapy principles with a psychodynamic structure. Sessions usually end with an activity or other ask to explore in between sessions (journaling, meditation, art therapy etc.) that will help move you towards your goal. If this type of structure appeals to you, I'd be happy to hear from you.
