Tyrone Caver is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in New York City. As a Black cis-male therapist, Tyrone holds the belief that our various intersectional identities strongly influence how we show up in the world and how we experience the people around us.

Tyrone utilizes his training in couples & family therapy and EMDR to guide people to new insights about their relationships and themselves. He's physically located in Downtown Brooklyn at 26 Court Street; he also offers confidential remote sessions to individuals across New York state.

I work with the people who are fed up, tired of feeling stuck, and ready to break free of unhelpful patterns of thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. I specialize in work with individuals, couples, and families with adult children as well as individuals of the Black and LGBTQ+ communities.

Trauma - Coping and healing after threatening or scary events, such as witnessing accidents or experiencing sexual, verbal, emotional, or physical abuse

Couples counseling - Addressing relationship challenges and life transitions; strengthening communication and feelings of security, desire, connection, and love

Family therapy - Promoting communication and supporting family members to address challenges and reduce conflict and distress

Depression - Providing support and promoting healing of hopelessness, low motivation and energy, sadness, irritability, sleep disturbance, and loss of interest and pleasure in life

Anxiety - Coping with excessive worry, nervousness, or stress; intense discomfort in social settings (social anxiety); sudden and intense feelings of panic (panic disorder)

LGBTQIA topics - Exploring topics of sexuality, gender, and identity; coping with discrimination and oppression; navigating relationship, family, and cultural challenges

Identity development - Understanding, accepting, and strengthening one’s sense of self through the exploration of family, work, and personal values
