Professional statement

Life is full of transitions, and even positive changes can feel overwhelming at times. Whether you're starting a new job, heading to a new school, navigating relationship shifts, or adjusting to a different season of life, it's normal to feel stressed, uncertain, or unsure about what comes next. Verronica, a Licensed Professional Counselor in Houston, TX, helps teenagers, young adults, and adults find their footing during life's twists and turns. With a compassionate and encouraging approach, she supports clients who feel stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected from their sense of direction, helping them build confidence, gain clarity, and move forward with purpose.

Verronica provides a warm, welcoming, and judgment-free space where clients can take a breath, share openly, and feel truly heard. Together, you'll explore life's challenges with curiosity and compassion while developing practical strategies to navigate difficult emotions, strengthen resilience, and build greater confidence in yourself and your ability to move forward.

Verronica's approach combines the practical skill-building of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) with the goal-oriented focus of Solution-Focused Therapy. She helps clients develop effective tools for managing stress, navigating life's challenges, and responding to emotions in healthier, more balanced ways. Believing that therapy is a partnership, Verronica works alongside each client to identify meaningful goals, recognize personal strengths, and create realistic steps toward lasting growth, greater confidence, and improved well-being.

Verronica earned her Master’s degree in Education from the University of St. Thomas and brings a compassionate, strengths-based perspective to her work with clients. She is passionate about helping individuals gain greater self-awareness, uncover their inner strengths, and find clarity during life's transitions. Her goal is to support clients in building resilience, embracing growth, and moving forward with confidence and a stronger sense of self.

Message to clients

For a long time, I considered myself an honest person. But a few years ago, I realized I had been telling a small, familiar lie almost every day. When someone asked, “How are you?” I would automatically reply, “I’m fine.” The truth was, I wasn’t fine—I was exhausted, overwhelmed, and simply trying to make it through each day. That realization changed the way I show up in the world and in my work as a therapist. It reminded me how often people carry difficult feelings beneath the surface, even when their words say otherwise.

Because of this, I strive to create a space where you don’t have to pretend you’re “fine.” Sometimes finding the words for what you’re feeling can be hard, and you may wonder if anyone will truly listen with care and understanding. Reaching out for support can feel vulnerable, but it is also a courageous step. When you’re ready, I’m here to listen, meet you where you are, and support you as you work toward greater clarity, balance, and growth.
