Mr. Barnstone has over 20 years in providing psychotherapy . He is known to be a highly empathic and easy going therapist. He has also been privileged to train and supervise many new therapists as well as therapy interns.

He has been very successful in treating many issues, among them depression, anxiety, life transitions and relationship issues. He previously worked on Wall Street in international finance for 10 years prior to training as a therapist. Consequently he is experienced in working with professionals who work in high stress environments. He also has experience working with early and mid-career physicians. Regardless of the specific issue brought to Mr. Barnstone, he approaches client's with a well rounded understanding them as a unique individual and does not limit his view by just looking at a diagnosis.

I use techniques based on psychodynamic therapy as well as cognitive- behavioral approaches.
