Professional statement

Wen Chang-Lit is a trauma-informed licensed creative arts therapist and a certified EMDR therapist specialized in treating PTSD, anxiety, depression, relationship issues and promoting self-discovery and growth.

Wen strives to support individuals navigating challenging life transitions, cope with symptoms of anxiety and depression and heal from past trauma. She specializes in working with adults of emotionally immature parents, addressing issues such as insecure attachment patterns, fear of abandonment, negative core beliefs, poor boundaries, emotional dysregulation, people pleasing behaviors or perfectionism.

As a creative arts therapist, Wen integrates music and art-making, movement, and various creative processes to provide a safe channel for her clients to express and explore intense feelings and the unconscious. Through this creative exploration, her clients can release tension in the body and unburden themselves from suppressed emotions. The resulting artistic expressions serve as powerful reflections of their internal landscapes. By exploring the feelings and artistic expressions, her clients can gain deeper insights and understanding about themselves. With the new found self-awareness and self-understanding, her clients then can break unhealthy behavioral patterns and make growth choices that lead to healthier relationships and more fulfilling life.

As an EMDR certified therapist, Wen has witnessed many transformative moments of emotional release during EMDR processing. Many clients reported that previous triggers no longer had the same hold on them after EMDR. They expressed feeling more empowered and confident and were equipped with increased self-awareness and a newfound sense of spontaneity in life. Wen is committed in trauma-informed care to promote her clients' innate capacity for healing and personal growth.

Wen is also trained in somatic and parts work, as well as CBT. Wen believes in being equipped with a wealth of clinical tools so she can meet her clients' unique needs with the tools that best serve them.
