Professional statement

Wen Chang-Lit is a trauma-informed licensed creative arts therapist and certified EMDR therapist. She specializes in treating PTSD, Complex-PTSD, anxiety, depression, perfectionism, relationship issues, and addiction.

Wen is experienced in working with individuals who are children of abusive, neglectful, or narcissistic parents. Growing up in such environment can result in forming insecure attachment styles, fear of abandonment, negative core beliefs, poor boundary, emotion dysregulation and/or addiction. Wen helps her clients to reprocess past trauma and reduce emotional sensitivity, and to form positive self-beliefs and more secure attachment patterns through trauma informed, integrative methods.

As a creative arts therapist, Wen also incorporates music and art making, movement, and other creative process as a channel for her clients to express and explore the unconscious. The creative process helps releasing tension in the body and unburdens the client from suppressed emotions and the "product" serves as a reflection of the internal landscape ready to be explored. This creative process can be profound and enriching.

Wen’s clients often reported that after EMDR treatments, the same triggers no longer affect them and they are more able to move through difficult feelings with mindful self compassion.

Wen has witnessed the transformation in her clients and is passionate about her collaboration with her clients towards healing and personal growth.

Message to clients

Is your past hindering you from forming healthy relationships and living the life you want? Are you tired of working so hard to keep it together and to feel "normal" but are slowly crumbling inside? You are not alone and I am here to help.

Life is hard and I am glad you found your way here. I believe therapy is a collaboration. In our work together, you will feel seen and heard and You have the control and choice in every process along the way. I will help you identify and change limiting thought patterns and self-believes that hinder you from living fully and reaching your goals.

Often times, these self-believes were formed as a result of adverse childhood experiences and/or significant traumatic events. With EMDR, an effective trauma method, we can process the distressing memories and relieve you from the past. After EMDR reprocessing, my clients often reported that the same trigger no longer has effect on them!

If you are an Asian American and/or an immigrant, I understand and am competent in helping you navigate through the unique cultural complexities and struggles. Even if our cultural backgrounds are different, I can offer a unique combination of Western therapeutic knowledge and Eastern holistic approach and wisdom. I also provide therapy in Chinese-Mandarin.

I look forward to help you achieve your goals and to be liberated from the past, build confidence and to live with confidence and vitality.
