Professional statement

Wen Chang-Lit is a licensed creative arts therapist and a certified EMDR trauma treatment specialist. She is also a certified clinical anxiety treatment professional. She specializes working with teens and adults who are struggling with PTSD symptoms, anxiety, depression, and impacts of complex trauma and attachment wounds. Many of her clients are adults of emotionally toxic parents, addressing issues such as feeling broken, unworthy, never good enough, feeling stuck or alone, emotional dysregulation, body-disconnection and/or sensory sensitivity.

Wen believes that just talking about problems does not lead to lasting changes. It takes a holistic approach to heal from past trauma and reach transformation. She combines EMDR, IFS, Somatic CBT, and creative arts therapy to help her clients process the root cause of current distress.

Wen strives to provide a space where her clients would feel safe being their authentic selves. As an EMDR certified therapist, Wen helps her clients to find calmness in their bodies when encountering triggering situations. Many of her clients expressed feeling more confident and at peace with themselves and were equipped with their increased self-awareness and a newfound sense of flow.

Wen's personal healing journey allows her to deeply understand what her clients might be going through, and offer empathic and informed methods to help her clients. Wen believes in life-long learning to be equipped with a wealth of clinical tools and knowledge, so she can meet her clients' unique needs with the tools that best serve them.

Message to clients

Having walked the walk on my own healing journey, I know the incredible effects of creative expression, EMDR, and somatic Parts work. I will help you work through attachment wounds, cultural baggage, harsh self-critic, perfectionism, imposter syndrome, negative and limiting beliefs. These struggles used to cause a lot of anxiety, depressive symptoms, and even eating disorders when I was a teenager. After a lot of hard work and transformation, I became a creative arts therapist myself so I can help others heal and live a confident and authentic life. I strive to help YOU heal from the root causes of your current distress and cultivate self-compassion and coping skills to create lasting changes.

As a bilingual Asian American, I know the struggles of having to navigate between conflicting cultural/familial expectations and the impact of trans-generational trauma from immigrant parents. You might not have received the attachment and emotionally needs from your parents. You might have learned to bottle up your feelings and rationalize your emotions until you can't hold it in anymore. Feelings are energy. They need to flow. Otherwise they are stuck in your body ready to explode. I will help you process and fully release the invisible burden you've been carrying.

Ever wonder what your life would be if you are not tied down by past trauma, limiting self-beliefs, and emotional distress? If you are ready to do the deep work and feel clarity, freedom, joy, and confidence, contact me now for a free consultation! 中文諮商
