Rennicke & Associates primary mission is to undo aloneness in and cultivate connection with adults, teens, children, and within families through attachment-focused, relationship-based, racially conscious, LGBTQ+ affirming therapeutic interventions. The primary lens of our clinical work is facilitating the healing of attachment ruptures and developmental trauma experienced by adopted children and families, through which we see the strengths, developmental journeys, and capacity for connection in all our clients. Our therapists' intention is to co-create authentic relationships, emotional safety, and a sense of belonging with you and lead with their full selves and perfectly imperfect humanity in their conversations with you.
As a team we focus on mutual understanding, compassion, and judgment free support to all. We understand that each client we work with is a unique individual influenced by their own personal identity, culture, family, values and beliefs. We honor and respect the uniqueness of each person we treat and strive to support people towards their self-identified hopes and ambitions.
We provide neuroscience-based, brain and body based, psychological services that begin with a strength-based approach and the understanding that we all have great inner resources for change and positive growth. Our goal is to work together through support, compassion and acceptance to help facilitate and resource this inner part of each person in order to help them reach their goals.
Overall, we want to help grow and normalize the use of mental health services during life's more challenging times in order to promote a more inclusive and positive environment for all. Together we hope to undo negative stereotypes of therapy, reach more people, and provide a positive experience of receiving professional support.
Rennicke & Associates is a therapy group practice located in between Washington Square and Union Square in Manhattan.
We offer individual therapy, dyadic (parent-child) therapy, parent and caregiver support work, and family intensives for a more in depth exploration of attachment ruptures and strengths beyond typical weekly sessions.
All therapists at Rennicke & Associates bring their expertise in evidence based and psychodynamic practices into our group and then infuse them with Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP) and Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP) which are two forms of attachment-focused, relationally based treatments.
Our therapists provide high quality support for adults, teens, children, and families from any and all backgrounds seeking support in the areas of relationships, adoption, loss, life transitions, anxiety and depression through the lens of a robust and safe therapeutic relationship.
We don’t shock
We never judge
We are only here to help our clients
To reach beyond coping mechanisms
To remove negative bias
To see yourself through kind eyes
To rebuild healthy respectful relationships
To reform/deepen their connections and community
And like all good families
…we are wonderfully, imperfectly human and radically accepting.
We hope to welcome you to the Rennicke & Associates Family
