Benita Mosca is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker located in Arlington, TX. Benita provides trauma-informed mental health treatment for clients of all ages who continue to suffer from the effects of traumatic experiences. Many of her clients go through flashbacks, nightmares, panic attacks, and heightened anxiety while dealing with a painful memory, which could include abuse, divorce, immigration, medical events, discrimination, and more. Benita helps her clients through the emotional fallout that comes with life’s challenges and supports them as they grow through their experiences.
Benita has training in multiple evidence-based therapy modalities that were specifically designed to help clients with trauma. She practices Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), sandtray therapy, and the Neuro-affective Relational Model (NARM). Benita takes her clients safely through neural reconsolidation of the events that occurred, helping them process through those memories and place them in the past. She also teaches clients skills from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which includes identifying and negating harmful cognitive distortions like assumptions and self-judgments. When working with couples, she uses The Gottman Method, which is a therapy modality that helps couples strengthen their bonds.
Benita earned a Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Central Florida. She has experience working across diverse settings, including social programming and family counseling. She is friendly, encouraging, validating, and effective in her work with clients. She believes that everyone can benefit from therapy and encourages everyone to consider putting their mental health at the top of their priority list.
