Blair Pallas is a licensed clinical social worker specializing in the treatment of anxiety disorders with a particular focus on the treatment of OCD. Many of her clients are students and professionals that are feeling lost in their anxious thought patterns and looking to feel more present in their daily lives. In her work with them, Blair is able to help clients learn new ways to relate to their overwhelming and often intrusive thoughts, and to create new patterns of behavior that allow them to reconnect to a full, value driven life.
Blair’s approach is centered in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), an evidence based approach that helps clients to understand the interconnection of their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors so that they can make effective change. She specializes in working with clients with OCD to implement Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), the most reccommended treatment for OCD. Through ERP Blair helps clients to gradually face the fears that have been keeping them “stuck” while simultaneously learning to refrain from compulsions, avoidance and escape behaviors. Blair's practice is also informed by other evidence based practices including ACT and DBT.
Blair earned her MSW from Temple University and has several years of experience as a private practice mental health therapist. Blair completed the Behavioral Therapy Training Institute, an intensive training workshop that focuses on Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) for the treatment of OCD. She also trained in various medical based settings, allowing her to truly recognize the importance of the mind/body connection when it comes to overall wellness.
Blair is committed to helping patients feel supported as they move through their treatment journey. Blair is licensed in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, and while she does have an office space in Philadelphia, she is currently only offering telehealth sessions.
